Medicee Chapel Closing times

Hello!

I was wondering how closing times work in Italy. If I was to book the last reservation slot of the day for the medicee chapel, Do they force you out at 6:50 when it officially closes? Or are you able to stay in past closing since you had a reservation time while they were still letting people in?

I’m just not sure if I have enough time picking the 5:30 slot when they close at 6:50, but I feel like it’s the only real time I have to visit it during my trip

Obviously it depends on the person, but I think most people spend between 30 minutes to an hour in the chapel, probably closer to 30 minutes. So you're probably safe buying the 5:30 slot.

Agree with Marco. I love visiting places like the Medici Chapel, but found that an hour was more than sufficient.

The closing of the ticket office and chapel are two different things. The ticket office closes a little earlier than the chapel to allow the last visitors of the day a quick visit. You are not allowed to stay after closing time.

Cappelle Medici was honestly one of the least interesting attractions we saw in Florence (and we loved Florence!) but that's a personal op. You should easily be able to cover ground in under an hour.

I love the Medici Chapel and take everyone there to see it! I’ve also seen the Michelangelo secret room and enjoyed it also. The sculptures by him are wonderful and when you reflect on his person connection with the family and then his creating the tombs… also you understand that without Anna Maria Luisa and the family pact Florence would not have the art it has today. You’ve got plenty of time to see it. Enjoy!
