traveling from France down to Naples along the coast -- any suggestions for towns to stop in, hotels or pensions(2 - 3 star) etc -- traveling by bus/train -- thanks...
Lisa, In order to provide more specific advice, it would help to have some further information on your travel plans. For example: > Where are you travelling from in France? > How many days do you have to make the trip from France to Naples? > What sort of towns would you prefer to stay in - those on the coast or would inland towns be acceptable? > Is Naples going to be your final destination, or are you planning to go further south along the Amalfi Coast? > Have you previously visited any of the parts of Italy that you'll be travelling to this time? Cheers!
What a view you will have, the scenery is awesome. We liked Positano, others suggest Sorrento along the way to Naples. Guess it depends on the cost of hotels for you to decide. Enjoy.
We stayed in Orte about 40 minutes by train outside of Rome. Got a real nice hotel room, actually entire suite for a lot less than what one pays in Rome for just a room. Hopped the train into Rome everyday. If in Rome about 6 blocks from the Termini there is a hotel called Lillium, we stayed there this past November. It is clean and has a decent breakfast very helpful and nice staff. The rooms are on the small side but you can get one with a bath tub shower combo for around 90 Euro.
We enjoyed Camogli very much. Stayed at Albergo La Camogliese (two stars) for euro 67 per night for a double (May of 2005).
