Meals on Trenitalia

Wondering how meals are on the train from Venice to Rome. Worth ordering ahead or pack our own meal. Thanks!

Nope not worth it, when you should have time enough to pack your own and bring on board.

The little food and drink cart MIGHT come through the train once, if you are on the Freccia train from Venice to Rome. Offerings are few (chips, crackers, cookies, etc.) However, in the Venice train station, there is a good food court, with many choices to take out. When you enter Venice SMN train station, turn right and go all the way to the right before you head straight for the trains. I've purchased food and drink to take on the train several times, there.

We've picked up food for a picnic on the train several times. You can bring wine too.

Thanks so much! We were leaning to bringing our own but wanted opinions.

Yep, the food court at the Venice train station is the way to go. Happy travels.

I never eat on the trains, always being my own packed lunch (or dinner, or breakfast, depending on what time I’m traveling). In part because I’m unwilling to pay inflated prices for heated-up food. I'd rather have a decent sandwich with good components purchased more cheaply. Your preference (and time investment) may vary.
