Is it wise to wear your weeding rings leaving this afternoon
Thank you,
Is it wise to wear your weeding rings leaving this afternoon
Thank you,
I've read that you should be fine. It's the pickpockets that you need to worry about, robbery is rare. No pickpocket is going to grab you hand to try to get your ring off. Saying that, I'm still leaving mine home. I'm more worried about forgetting it someplace with all the moving we are doing. If I was just staying in one location, I'd bring it. I bought a beautiful fake last year and am taking that.
Think of the millions, millions of Italian women who wear their wedding rings every day.
I always wear mine. Never occurred to me not to.
Agree with Lulu.
I wear only my wedding band.
My fingers swell on the plane ride over and back...so just one simple band is enough for me.
I leave mine in the safe deposit box and just wear my anniversary band. Mainly because we typically travel in the late fall and I'm pulling gloves off and on, I'm afraid my engagement ring will get stuck and I'll pull it off and not realize. The wedding band looks lonely by itself so I just go with the anniversary band! Not a silly question, I'm sure if you are like me it's one of your most prized possessions!!
Thank you all! I will be wearing my rings. I always planned on wearing my rings until my husband mention it. What do they know maybe he thought if I lost my rings he would have to replace them. Not a bad idea! LOL
Not silly at all. I think most give it no thought, especially if you have a simple band or diamond. My wife typically wears a larger ring though, multiple bands, not huge diamonds, but rows of them like an anniversary band. She tends to look at the itinerary we have going, if we will be parked someplace like Rome for a week, then she is likely to wear her ring, as well as another that she wears. If we are looking at a trip with lots of locations and travel, or focusing on "beach time", then she typically leaves the larger ring home. The concern for us is not so much pickpockets or theft, just that travel is hard on lots of thing....suitcases, clothes, shoes, and rings. She also worries about leaving it or losing it...though I don't think she ever takes it off, if she leaves it home, that is one less thing to worry about.
I bought my wedding band with its 40 tiny sapphires in Florence. It has never crossed my mind not to wear it back home to Italy. Thieves in Europe generally work by stealth; muggings are rare. I suppose if I had a giant flashy diamond, I might not wear it traveling due to the risk of misplacing it as well as attracting attention, but anything short of Liz Taylor flash, is not likely to be at risk.
The one thing I am careful to do is always at night in hotels, put my jewelry including my wedding band in my dob kit -- I figure I will never leave the hotel for the next city without my dob kit whereas putting it in a dish or drawer or wherever overnight might end up with it being left behind.
