Q: We have not found a place to stay on Friday May 1 (less than 48 hours away), although we have a room on Saturday, May 2 in Corniglia (Cinque Terra). The we is my wife, two girls (age 8 & 13) and I. It will be our first night in Italy and right now we are planning to go from Milan to Genova to ??? Any thoughts? Thank you, Kevin

I checked out www.bestwestern.com and found Grand Hotel Guinigi in Lucca. A family suite (2 rooms & 4 beds) is 135-145 Euros with a breakfast buffet. When it asked for how many people, I put in 3. When I originally entered 4 persons, it came back with no availability. However, it is 2 rooms and plenty of beds, so... I guess you could always get 2 doubles. I haven't stayed in Lucca, however, from RS books, he has said it's a nice walled town. I checked out mappy.com to find the distance from Genova--160 km.
