Hi all--my fiance and I will be on our honeymoon in the Cinque Terre on May 1st. We understand it's a holiday; is there anything we should be aware of / or be looking forward to while in the area for the holiday? We will be based in Manarola.

Yes, we've been booked since December I think. I just reconfirmed all of our honeymoon reservations this week.

I was in Cinque Terre several years ago on May 1st. I recall it was similar to Labor Day in the US. A lot of locals were out having fun, enjoying the day, etc. Businesses were open. It was not like Christmas Day when everything is shut down. I do not remember any big festivals.
