Hello.
I will stay in Bari (old town: airbnb). I really want to see sunset in Matera and am coming back to Bari. There is one bus coming to Bari, but I am not sure if it is safe to take the night bus? Do you think is is better to arrange a taxi from Matera to Bari after dark?

It is not the Matera to Bari journey that I would be concerned with, but if you must walk from the train station to old town late at night by yourself. You could just hop in a cab from the station to the edge of old town. I would not have any qualms about walking in old town by myself. The walk from the train station is probably also fine, but it's been a while since I was in the city.
