Matera - Palombaro Lungo, Giant Cistern

Hello,

Has anyone been to Palombaro Lungo, the giant Cistern in Matera? I heard it was great and was wondering if tickets need to be purchased in advance?

We took the tour in early June. I'm not sure I'd describe it as great but it was very interesting. We arrived about 10 minutes before the English language tour and bought the tickets at the entrance. It lasts about 20 minutes. If it is a hot day it a nice place to cool off.
