Does anyone know the mass times at the Duomo in Florence? I want to make a reservation for Accademia and Uffizi tickets, but I also want to attend mass. My new hubby and I (honeymoon) will be in Florence July 3rd - 7th. Thanks

The 5 pm Mass at the Duomo is in English if that would be a consideration. Also, to suggest something different that you might like--- this May we went to the Saturday evening Mass at San Mineato. To get there you take the #13 or #12 bus to Piazzelle Michelangelo --- take some time to admire the wonderful view, then go up a few blocks to San Mineato. The Mass is in the lower chapel. At 5:30 the monks begin chanting the evening office and Mass follows. It's very beautiful, and the chanting in the small stone chapel is simply heavenly. After Mass you can take the bus back or meander back down the hill and find a romantic cafe for dinner.

Get your Acadameia reservations for first in the morning. Check the website for service times. Midweek morning services are conducted before the cathedral opens. The entrance is way up on the right side of the cathedral. Show up for the mass, the guard will try to stop you, state you are there for mass. They will let you in. Mass ends 5 minutes before the cathedral opens. You can actually have a minute or two of relative silence in the cathedral before the hoard swarms in
