Hi!
Can anyone advise what the Mass times are or where I can find them for the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary? We are going in June and we want to attend on a Sunday before touring the ruins. I have tried searching online but I am only seeing the times for services in Polish or Ukrainian, or times for weekdays or holidays. I'm confused - what am I missing? Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Here are a few resources. The website for the shrine, with Ukrainian & Polish mass (probably what you already saw): https://www.santuario.it/dove-siamo.html
Mass Times in Italy, probably pulls its info from that site: https://masstimes.org/map?sortDistance&lat=40.745&lng=14.496&SearchQueryTerm=Pompei,%20Campania,%20Italy
If there is no English Mass, we got used to the Mass in Italian and used this to follow along: https://massineverylanguage.com/languages/it
Even now, when we are back in the US, we sometimes reply with a "E con il tuo spirito."
@Hallowed Way Thank you for the info - that's all incredibly helpful!
I had found the sanctuario.it website. Wondering if the "holiday" times applied for Sunday, being a "Holy day". One of those things lost in translation. I don't know Italian and am only in OCIA process with a lot to learn so figured I'm misreading something.
I love the Mass Times in Italy site and will definitely utilize for our trip. And honestly we are actually hoping for services in Italian. Really looking forward to the real local experience.
Hi, to add to Hallowed Way's helpful post....
The actual Italian word for Sunday is "domenica" but "festivi" (holidays) is also generally applied to Sundays, often to Saturdays, and/or other special religious or public holidays when people are off work. If needing translation of the site's info - or any website in a foreign language - just copy/paste the text into google translate. My apologies if you already know that! :O)

Mass times are different for different altars or in different languages within the church. They are held Sundays (in Italian) at the high altar at:
6:00 AM - 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Sundays in the Bartolo Chapel (in Italian) at:
8.00 - 9.30 - 10.30 - 11.30 - 13.00 - 17.30 - 18.30
I"m sure the only services in Polish or Ukrainian are those specifically listed.
