what masks have you been wearing in Italy. We leave in 14 days.
thanks
Currently FFP2 (N95) masks are required on public transportation (all types) and certain public events (theaters, concerts primarily). I read today in the Italian newspapers that all masking requirements on flights and airports will be lifted on May 16. It will remain aboard trains and buses until June 15.
In all other venues masks is recommended, but not mandatory.
We are here now
Mostly seeing the N95 equivalent
Easy to buy here about a euro each and the black ones we bought are much more comfortable than the white ones we brought
A few surgical mostly black, a few blue
You can also buy them easily 10 packs for 4 euros
Don’t see any cloth masks
Enforced on trains
Even though masking not required in stores, restaurants and such we are seeing almost all staff still wearing masks
We just got home from Italy yesterday afternoon. N95, KN95 and FFP2 is what we saw. We personally wore FFP2. Everyone wears them on public transit as required; after that, it was about 50/50 whether people wore them walking around, at restaurants, or shops. Some of the sites still required mask wearing while we were there - others left it up to the visitors. I wore mine inside, but not outside.
