Has anyone taken the Maserati Factory Tour?
We have not. I believe that a factory tour is only available to Maserati owners, who might make an appointment through an owners' club, although I don't see even that option mentioned at http://www.maserati.com/maserati/en/en/index/services/contact.html.
Below is a reply from Motorstars (they have tours for Maserati, Ferrari). It is an all day tour. I wanted to know if anyone had ever taken the tour and if it was worth it. Also (for a fee) you can drive a one of their cars.
Thank you for contacting us and for your interest in MOTORSTARS.
Please kindly note at present some factories did not give us next season's
availability and prices so unfortunately also our tours packages are still
not available for bookings. We apologize for any inconvenience this may
cause but it’s completely out of our control.
If possible, please contact us again in December, thank you.
My fiancé took the Ferrari and Lamborghini tour through Motorsports. He thought the tour was very good. He loved driving the Ferrari. He paid for the hour drive and said it was well worth it. Our friend also went with him and he only paid for the thirty minute tour. Both agreed that the hour tour was the way to go because you actually got out of the city and were able to get the car up to the speed at which they apparently are made to go. Driving the Ferrari was his favorite part of our two week trip to Europe, so if you are a car person, you may want to splurge. I am not a car person, so I stayed back in Florence and don't regret it for a second.
Did you have a tour arranged for you? What touring company did you use, if that was the case.
Can you make any recommendations for where to stay?
Thank you.
Motorstars was the site that originally gave me the info about Maserati factory tours not being easily available: http://www.motorstars.org/ENG/Maserati_factory_tour.htm. Their tour takes you to the museum, Collection Umberto Panini.
