Marco Polo Venice

We are going to Venice in October 2018. My biggest concern is our flight leaving Venice.
Our flight is scheduled to leave Marco Polo via Air Dolomiti at 6:30am on a Monday morning.

The flight is to Munich, which we will connect for flight to Chicago (all one ticket booked with United).

The night before departure we did book Best Western Titian Inn to be close to the airport but have realized the hotel shuttle does not start until 4:45am. The airline recommends arriving 2 hrs before departing so, I’m assuming this shuttle will not work.

Any recommendations on how best to get to airport by 4:30am?

A taxi might be your best bet. It's under a 5 minute ride.

It’s been many years but I recall the airport did not open until 4:30 and agents were not available for check in until 5. Maybe someone will have more recent experience. I learned from our one waaay too early departure from Venice-will not do that again.

I took that same 06:30 Air Dolomiti flight last October. I took the first bus from Piazzale Roma, which got me to the airport about 04:45. The airport was just getting going at that time, and I was through all the check-in/security stuff and at the gate by 05:30--even stopped post-security for a final caffe e cornetto before leaving Italy. By the way, took the same bus this past February and had no trouble making a 06:20 Air France flight to CDG.

Long way of saying, as close as your hotel is to the airport, you'll be fine leaving at 04:45. Plus, I'm sure the hotel wants to make sure their customers don't miss early morning flights, as that's pretty much their raison d'etre.

Take the hotel shuttle at 4:45 and you will be fine. You’ll be at the gate one full hour before departure.

Yes, we did the shuttle from the Titian and got there before the airport was ready for us. They're well used to early flights!

Thank you for all for your replies and expertise. Looks like we will take the hotel shuttle at 445am.
