I will be ending my Italy trip in Florence. I will be taking a train to the Marco Polo airport area. What is the train station closes to that airport? I will have a morning flight so I will need a hotel near the airport. Can you recommend one?

The Marco Polo airport is in the Venice area. Are you leaving from there after Florence? or are you leaving from the Amerigo Vespucci airport in Florence?

The Marco Polo is Venice's airport. It's located in Tessera, near Venice, over two hours north of Florence. The closest station is Venezia-Mestre. I have no experience of Hotels at Venice airport, so I'll let others suggest.

If you are coming from Florence by train, I think the closest station is Venice Mestre. Venice Mestre and the airport are on the mainland. I haven't stayed close to the airport, so cannot help you there.

There is a Courtyard by Marriott just of the airport property,and they're not badly priced by Venezia standards. I believe their courtesy car begins at 5:00 a.m. to the airport. Reservations can be made through the regular worldwide Marriott reservation system for "Venice Marco Polo". There is also a Hotel Venice Resort that you can see in Booking.com. They're only 1/2 mile from the airport.
