HI there. WE will be in Malta March 27 from 8:30am to 6pm. Port day travelling on MSC cruise. I've done lots of research and narrowed down what we would like to do but torn between hiring a private driver ahead of time or just finding a driver once we are in port. Rick Steve's Italy 2019 book doesn't include Malta. :( Here is my proposed itinerary for our family of 6.

Blue Grotto boat tour (2 hours total)
St John’s Cathedral OR Grand Palace. (from my research, St John’s Cathedral is a “bucket list” must see cathedral. Many people say it’s one of the most beautiful they’ve seen in the world! Grand Palace isn’t rated as high on trip advisor. WE don’t have time for both.)
Walk through the Medieval City of Mdina (The city is still confined by its walls and maintains its medieval charm. It has under 300 inhabitants today! Mdina was the highlight of my Malta trip. The tall walls of its buildings and its narrow streets make the experience one of a kind.)
Lunch at: http://fontanellateagarden.com/ one of the most stunning views of the city and grab a Pastizzeria at the Crystal Palace!
Your suggestions would be appreciated. Quotes that I've received for a private driver are VERY expensive. $100 EURO per person!! Not sure if the hop on hop off bus would accommodate our schedule?
