Malpensa Express today? (Strike)

Can anyone report on if the Malpensa Express ran today? We arrive on May 19th, which has been announced as another National rail strike day. Both today and the 19th are Sundays, so not covered by the union agreements. We would be fine taking a bus service into Milan anyway but wonder if we can buy bus tickets in advance, anticipating long lines on the 19th if the strike does materialize? Do taxis jack up their fixed rate in the event of strikes? Any advice appreciated. We just need to get into Milan that morning, not any further.

It's my understanding that the airport trains are guaranteed to run on strike days so no one is stuck at the airport.
I'd need to dig up an actual reference but that is what I have always heard in reference to strikes.

Good luck,

Thank you. I am hoping that will be the case. I have read that the Leonardo Express into Rome will run even on a Sunday in the event of a strike and both lines are operated by Trenitalia.

I looked into it and the it looks like only the morning and evening trains are guaranteed to run from Malpensa T2 to Milano Centrale or Milano Nord Cadorna:

Basically nothing after 8:00am and before 6:00pm.

I would investigate buses as a back up (assuming the strike is train centric):

Just for reference I've taken a taxi - when we arrived 7 hours late at 1:30am and with no traffic is >100e.(I believe it is fixed fare within the city.)

Here's hoping the strike doesn't materialize, safe travels,
