malpensa express

Hello all,

I am finishing up the last of my families trip through Italy. Thank you all for answering all my questions the trip has been wonderful. But for my hopefully last question, we are in Milan not far from Milano Centrale, we would like to take the Malpensa express to the airport. Our flight is tomorrow 3pm on Ailitalia. Can I buy the tickets with my credit card? Does it go straight to the airport or does it make stops? How often does it leave from Milano centralale. And is Ailitia terminal 1. What would be the best time to leave from Milano centrale our checkout is 11am. We are about a 15min walk from the station

You can check the schedule and buy tickets online from Trenitalia or from the station, but there may be a line there. The train takes about an hour, includes several stops, and costs about €15/person, I think. It departs at least once an hour, but I don't recall the schedule.

If you buy a ticket at the station, remember to validate it.

You could also consider taking the bus from Milano Centrale. The stop is just outside the station, the bus runs every 20 minutes and it's comfortable. The ride takes less than an hour. I wouldn't expect traffic delays around noon.

Yes, every half half hour, at 25 and 55 past the hour. Takes 51 minutes to Terminal 1. Trains departing at 55 past the hour have 4 intermediate stops, trains at 25 past the hour have 7 intermediate stops. There is a Malpensa Family ticket available for 33 EUR where the family consists of 2 adults and 2 children (ages 4 to 17).

For flights to the United States, the 10:55 is probably the best as it gets you to the airport by 11:46, more than 3 hours before flight time.

We have used the Milano Shuttle bus for years before the train route was established and we were always satisfied with its service. The pick up location is to the right of Stazione Centrale as you look at the station from the front. You can buy tickets from a kiosk in the bus area or from the bus driver. Just make sure the bus going to Malpensa.

Since we are now in our 70's we use the Blacklane limo service, but it is pricey. Your hotel could also make pick up arrangements for you.

Buon viaggio,
