We arrive in Florence on Dec. 30th and plan to see the Uffizi that afternoon. Does someone have the website to make reservations in advance? Also, about how long should we allow to enjoy the Uffizi?
You can see Rick Steves' recommended reservation method on this very website. Click: Plan Your Trip / Best Destinations / Italy / Art Lovers' Update for Museum Reservations in Florence and Milan.
Thanks, Lamont. The "Plan Your Trip" section has GREAT info. If anyone else has any reply on how much time to allow for Uffizi, would appreciate that info.
I would plan at least 2 hours at the Uffizi--3 hours tops. The Uffizi also seems to change its hours all the time. Prepare for it to close at 5pm just to be on the safe side.
Are you staying overnight in Florence? If so, your hotel or B&B can make the reservations for you. Regarding time to enjoy the Uffizi--you could spend the whole day (or a lifetime) and not see everything the museum has to offer. This museum and the Pitti Palace were my favorites. There is an amazing amount of art and history within their walls. I spent about 4-5 hours captivated by the sculptures, paintings, and ceilings in the hallways. Be sure to go to the rooftop cafe for a great vista of Florence.
