We’ve visited this beautiful area twice before, but now ready for a 2025 return with “upgraded” accommodations. B&B “Lupaia” looks to be ideal, but rooms start around $800/nt. I’d appreciate knowing about personal experiences with countryside (not village) B’s & B’s that might be a bit more reasonably priced for Fall 2025. Grazie!
For “Bs & B’s” in the countryside, look for agriturismos. Agriturismo.it lists hundreds of them.
Hi, I am looking for the same, more of a 'luxury" place to stay in the Tuscany area. Did you make an reservations or have any recommendations.
I haven’t been able to find anything that comes close to the beauty and high praise that Lupaia has, but I had to take a 3 week break from my search while we were in Europe/Greece.
Good luck, and please let me know if you find anything.
During our Best of Tuscany tour in 2022, we spent a few nights at "La Moscadella" which was in the countryside 10 km from Pienza. Beautiful property, gorgeous rooms, wonderful hospitality, good food, amazing views. We felt so pampered and special and couldn't believe it was a RS tour hotel. FYI, I don't think the Best of Tuscany stays at this property anymore.
On our Village Italy tour we stayed at the Hotel Belvedere di San Leonino, 20 minutes outside of Siena. A beautiful property in the middle of vineyards.
La Moscadella looks excellent! Thank you for your recommendation. I am researching it further now and just sent an email to them. Our challenge is that we’ve vacationed in Italy 7-8 times, each visit being better than the last. We’ve stayed in numerous B&B’s in nearly all of the regions of Italy, including a 3000 yr-old cave in Matera. We’ve completed a lot of cooking lessons, worked in a Tuscan B&B for about 6 weeks, and volunteered to work in the grape harvest one year as a part of the “WWOOF” program. We drive everywhere so that we can explore off-the-beaten path villages. So now, we are a little challenged to find something really different and better than past experiences. Thanks again for your referral!
