We are a family of 8 traveling from FCO airport to our villa in Sorrento. We all land around noon and would like to eat somewhere halfway between Rome & Sorrento as we'll be starved. BUT we will have two rental cars full of luggage so not sure about Naples, etc. Any suggestions? TY :)

I don’t know if there is an Autogrille along your way but the food at those is good
Remove valuables from your luggage BEFORE you stop and park and make sure all is hidden

You are looking at a 4-5 hour drive with 2 cars trying to stay together after what I assume is an overnight flight.
Usually not recommended to take on such a drive in a jet lagged condition but it sounds like you must get to Sorrento.
I wouldn't worry about trying to find an authentic gourmet Italian meal on this day- time for that later- just stay on the route to Sorrento and eat quickly along the way.
2 cars getting off the route and hunting for a quaint restaurant on unfamiliar roads, unfamiliar traffic signs etc is a recipe for disaster.
Make sure all drivers have an International Driving Permit along with their US issued drivers license.
