Lunch place in Vicenza?

Any recommendations for lunch not too far from the main sights in Vicenza? We'll be following Rick's walking tour directions & he has no restaurants listed in the guidebook. WAY too many choices on Trip Advisor, not sure they're reliable anyway. If you've eaten in that town, I'd love a suggestion.

I'm not much help I'm afraid. I love Vicenza, spent a week there a couple of years ago. But we cooked at the apartment, so my go to restaurant was the Despar market across the street from it. I'm afraid we eat to live, not the opposite.

There is a good coffee bar, but a little of the main push, some excellent gelato - but you can't have gelato for lunch.

As we walked around the very people friendly centre there were all sorts of places with good smells coming out and people going in. Because it is not a particularly touristed city these were mostly local folks who know a good thing. If I were looking I'd follow them.

In the evenings the music comes out of many of the places too. Good music.

I love Vicenza.

Just spent 4 days there but we also cooked in the apartment. Lots of fun little cafes for breakfast though. Really enjoyed Vicenza- beautiful and easy to walk and see everything.

Thanks Nigel and Linda. Doesn't seem like a lot of people visit Vicenza, maybe they pass it by on the way to Verona. I guess we'll just follow our noses as far as a place to eat! It appeared to me to be an interesting town, especially because I want to see Palladio's buildings. We will be there maybe early morning through mid-afternoon, day-tripping from Venezia.
