Lunch on way from Ragusa to Agrigento, Sicily

Hello!

On a Sunday in October, we will be driving from Ragusa Ibla to Agrigento where we will be staying the night at Terraze di Montelusa to see the temples at night and again in the morning.

We plan to visit Scala dei Turchi before heading inland to Agrigento. We'd love to stop for lunch somewhere closer to our destination, that is scenic, but with tasty food. Folks have recommended Mandranova for an olive oil tasting, and they also offer a buffet (?) lunch for 30 euros p/p.

I've also scoped out some restaurants with views overlooking the cliffs - Maragia, Ristorante Lido and others, but the reviews are very mixed.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

One of the. best restaurants in Sicily is in Licata, LA MADIA. It is expensive but wonderful value. Very small.

thank you! I've read all about it and it does sound wonderful, but we would definitely want to do the wine pairing and that's not an option since we will have a car and still have an hour's drive to get to our destination. It's too bad its not close enough to one of our overnights to enjoy without driving.

We were in both places in late April and never had a bad meal, but that was true for all of Sicily. The food was delicious and inexpensive, so fresh and flavorful. In Agrigento we stayed at B&B Donna Teresa (great) and ate along the Main Street. In Ragusa Ilba, we stayed at Terrazza dei sogni (fabulous) and again had quality meals for low costs. Just follow the locals! Loved both of those towns but parking in Ragusa was tricky. Just be aware of the Ztls.

Thanks Marie! Could you share the names of any of the restaurants you loved?

Cookie there is another restaurant in Licata that you might want to look into.. But some days of the week, it's only open for dinner.. Not so $$$ as La Madia. And that entire, fairly large, town seems to be filled with restaurants that look very good.
