If my memory serves me, Rick (and years ago) and we went to this tiny lunch place on or next to the Piazza della Signoria. Is it still there?

I don't remember the name, the image I have is from long ago in Steve's show on Florence, he went to this place, placed his order, grabbed a glass of wine, when he was finished the wine, he just put it on the lunch counter, got his lunch and moved on. Our experience was just like his. It's encouraging to hear there may be a number of these places, do you have a recommendation or two?

We did that at I Fratellini last fall. We opted for a lemon drink instead. Their sandwiches are good and a manageable size unlike some of the other well known sandwiches in Florence which are quite large. Expect to wait a bit in line, but it moves fast and they do know who ordered what. There were 5 small tables in the immediate vicinity to sit if so desired.
