Lunch in Bologna

Next June (2026) we will be driving from Lake Garda to Siena. We would like to stop for lunch in Bologna, probably in the Quadrilatero.

Does anyone have suggestions for a convenient place to park? We don't mind having to take an uber or something from a parking lot. Also, if anyone has suggestions for a specific place for lunch I am interested.

Mercato di Mezzo is a collection of food and drink places all together in a shared seating area if you want to browse. There are, of course, tons of restaurants in the area. Some of it depends on what you want and where you can get in.

Mercato delle Erbe across town is much less touristed and has several internal restaurants that are good. The pizza place Mozzabella has a good rep in town which means something.

I have no help on parking. Maybe this will help: https://www.bolognawelcome.com/en/blog/where-to-park-in-bologna-2

Have a great trip,

I second Ristorante Da Cesari. Also recommend Frano Rossi.

Sfoglia Rina. We went twice! It's popular among the locals.

Mercato di Mezzo, which hiredman suggested, is also a good lunch option.

Trattoria da Nello serves excellent traditional Bolognese dishes.
