As our long awaited trip to the Dolomites is approaching I’m trying to guesstimate how much cash we might need to bring. Were used to travelling in England where contactless payment is accepted everywhere. Our accommodation is half board so we just need to pay for lunches while hiking or get a packed lunch from our hotel. Undoubtably we’ll stop for tea or coffee in some of the huts so my question is, do the huts take credit cards or just cash? Thanks in advance

Every hut I have visited on Alpe di Siusi takes credit cards. That said I always bring some cash and coins when hiking. On some trails, you will encounter trail-side stands where you can purchase local specialties from a nearby farm. Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the reply. We figured most of the huts take credit cards but it’s good to have it confirmed. And yes, we always have some cash with us for various small purchases. So looking forward to the trip !
