Lunch and Dinner in Venice

I read some where in google. I am little surprise to read. They said that recommend to stand up to order drink which is cheaper than sit down . I don't get it. I am looking for a reasonable lunch and dinner if we need sit down. What do you recommend? I do not mind to explore to stay away from tourist in some areas.

They were referring to "bars", which is where coffee is served. There is an extra charge to drink your coffee at a table versus the bar. Regular dining establishments are normal sit down places where you can eat sitting down at no extra charge :)

Jackie is spot on: the less expensive price between standing and sitting is for bars where coffee, drinks, snacks and sometimes ice cream and sandwiches are served. The difference is to cover the cost of waitstaff, laundering table linens (when tables have them), etc. This does not apply to restaurants.

That little extra at bars is well worth it when one has been on their feet for hours and need a break but it's common to see Italians standing up for their morning espresso before heading off to work. We've chosen to stand as well when we're just having a quick cuppa early in the day.
