Lugging luggage to Milano Art Museum

Tomorrow we will be traveling from Varenna to Parma by train, with too much luggage because we are on a 100 day journey. We wish to visit Milan’s main art museum. So, we are thinking we will taxi from Milano Centrale to the museum and check in our bags at the museum bag check center.
We have found all art museums in the big cities have this service, but we have never attempted to secure anything larger than a medium size back pack. I also realize we will have to pass through security at the entrance before purchasing entry tickets. We are carrying some metal, nail clippers and small scissors.
We have to large suitcases as well as two carry on sand two smaller size back packs. Thinking securing our luggage at the train station which is crazy crowded and huge, might be a nightmare and less than secure.
Please help. Thank you!

Surely the train station is better equipped to take big bags. Usually you have to get your bags screened before you can store them at the station (this has been my experience in both Paris and London). And then you're more free for your transit to the museum and your entry there. You should at least google left luggage at Milano Centrale and see what you find before thinking about dragging all your stuff to the museum.

I’ve never heard of a museum accepting anything larger than a daypack due to security concerns about bombs. Even most train stations have only unmanned automatic lockers for this reason. Second, museums know they could be overwhelmed with luggage from people who have a few hours to kill. So, please report back if they took your luggage. It’s good info for others.
