We are checking out of our Airbnb at 10am and not flying out until around 6pm. Is there a convenient central place (besides having to go all the way to the airport terminal) to store luggage for the day?

Lockers at the train station which as in station before you board shuttle bus nearby at Piazzale Roma to airport.

Just type "luggage" into Google Maps near your desired location, and you’ll find plenty of automated luggage storage facilities. You can pay by card, and it usually costs around 5-7 euros per day per luggage.
