Hello,
For our upcoming trip this summer, we are planning on waking up, going to the Vatican early to see St. Peters and the museums (following strategy that people have laid out here on other threads) and then taking a train to Florence late afternoon/early evening. Our only quandry is what to with our bags during the day since we would have been staying at an Airbnb and they cannot keep our luggage for us. We each will have a carry on sized suitcase and a "personal item" sized backpack.
I was originally thinking of storing the bags at Termini station while we are at the Vatican, but that seems like we would waste a lot of time since we are staying in Trastevere. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Trastevere -> Termini -> Vatican -> Termini (train to Florence leaves from Termini) does not seem like the most efficient use of our time.
Is there luggage storage at the Vatican? What about the Trastevere train station - would that be better? What would you do if you were in our shoes?
