I will be landing in Naples and staying the night there to hopefully recover from jet lag. The next morning I will be traveling to Sorrento to stay 3 nights. I want to spend one day on the Amalfi Coast, spend meaningful time on Capri, stroll around Sorrento, and visit both Vesuvius and Pompeii.
Is it easy to leave Naples and head to Vesuvius with luggage (and have somewhere safe to store luggage while touring around Vesuvius)? From Vesuvius travel to Pompeii and again leave my luggage while touring. Then finally heading to Sorrento to check into my hotel after visiting the sights. That would leave me one full day for the Amalfi Coast and one full day for Capri (plus early mornings/late evenings to stroll Sorrento).
Is this idea too much or easily done? I will be traveling with 3 other people as well. Our luggage would consist of each person having a checked roller bag and most likely a backpack.
The other idea would be to head straight to Sorrento, checking into our hotel and then head straight to Capri. Would this leave enough time to do all the major sights on Capri? This would leave a full day for the Amalfi Coast and full day for Pompeii/Vesuvius.
Thanks in advance for all of your thoughtful responses.
