I thought I read that there was luggage storage at the train station in Vernazza, but I just searched the forum and can't find it, so maybe I read it somewhere else. We could only get one night in Vernazza, but wanted to spend 2 days there- our second night will be in La Spezia, close to the train station. Does anyone know if there's storage at the train station and if it's safe? Thanks so much- Lou
I don't believe Vernazza or, any of the train stations have any kind of luggage storage/service. Maybe Monterosso but only because it's the largest of the towns. All the others are simply platforms; these are small villages with limited services.
If you're going to spend the next night in LaSpezia, you might as well take an early morning train there and store your luggage, then return. The ride isn't that far. The other alternative is seeing if the place you're staying in will store your luggage until you depart.
I found this info on an Italian site: You can leave your luggage in Vernazza Tourist Office at the station. It should cost 1euro/hour or 10 euros/day. The office opens from 8am - 7pm
I'm not able to insert the photo of the office here but I wrote it as a tip on my site TheTravel Brief.com, you can view it here: https://www.thetravelbrief.com/tips/cinque-terre-where-to-store-luggage-in-cinque-terre
If this happens to be outdated, I would really appreciate you come back to us to give an updated brief from your trip and help more travellers :)
Buon viaggio!
Thanks so much for both replies! Dropping off in La Spezia is certainly easy enough, if there is no storage in Vernazza! I'll report back!
