Traveling by train from Rome to Florence, with a possible stop in Orvieto for the day. Is there a luggage storage locker at the train station in Orvieto. Would it be better to just stay overnight there and then go on to Florence the next day?

Sorry, I don't. We stayed at a B&B for two nights, but they don't rent for only one. If you have the RS Italy book, he'll have quite a few suggestions. If not, you should pick up a copy.

The Orvieto station is tiny and has no left luggage capability. There is a hotel close by where you can apparently leave bags for a fee. But I would encourage you to do an overnight in Orvieto.
