Planning our 2021 trip and we will be taking the train from Salerno to Maratea. We are thinking of a stop at Paestum but we will have luggage. Are there any storage facilities that we can use there?

There might be a place at the Archaeological Museum at which you could store luggage - think single airline carry ons. I would email the TI at [email protected] to confirm it or find out if there is any other place that might provide storage. Here’s a link to the tourism website. Just remember the museum is closed Mondays. If you want to stay in the area, I would recommend the B&B La Chora Di Paestum - quiet, nice rooms, great breakfast, inexpensive.

It’s quite a walk from the train station to the museum and ruins. As I remember, a scenic walk but a long one, maybe 10-15 minutes. Not sure if there are taxis at the station or not.

We were there this spring. We took the bus from Salerno to Paestum and took the train back.
Like someone else said, it is a long walk. The train station is just a shelter of a building. We were there on a week day and I don't recall seeing ANY Italians there (rail employees, taxis, ...)
The "check with the museum" is a great idea.
I've read of people paying hotels (ones that you aren't staying at) to store your luggage. There MAY be a place next to the park that would do that. I'd start at the museum - if they so "no", I'd ask them if they can recommend something.
