Has anyone had a problem leaving luggage? I understand that they don't have lockers but just area where you check your luggage.
What is the price per hour? We will be heading to Rome from Sorrento and wanted to stop in Naples to see "Cappella Sanverero"
I've never used it at Naples, but at several other stations, the charge was per piece, for a fairly long period - like 4 hours. It was around €4-6. The rates and times vary by station.
Jo, you are correct that there are no lockers in the train stations in Italy. However, the larger stations have staffed luggage storage. The worker is behind the counter and you often need to produce documentation for the information attached to your luggage. You need your passport or similar to get your luggage back. Quite safe. You do pay per piece of luggage. For Naples, there is such a Biglietteri. It's open daily from 5:50am to 21:10. I don't see the cost per bag on the Trenitalia website but you can expect 4-5Euro per bag. Also, there is a luggage storage facility at Pompei entrance (Scavi train stop) should you need one there as well.
