Does anyone know of a place besides Termini that will store luggage for a few hours, perhaps a hotel? We will be arriving in Rome by train from Venice around 10 p.m. but have to be at the airport at 4 a.m., so we were going to just do Rick's Night Walk Across Rome to kill some time before heading to the airport. Unfortunately, the Termini luggage storage closes at midnight and reopens at 6 a.m., hours after we're supposed to be at the airport. I know we could probably take our bags back to the hotel we stayed at a week earlier when we visited Rome, however it is way out past the Vatican and it would be way out of our way to drop the bags off, come back into the city, then go back out to get them before heading to the airport. Does anybody have any suggestions? Does anyone know of a hotel near Termini willing to hold bags for a fee even if you didn't stay at their hotel? Thanks for any advice.

We have a similar situation, but we have decided to come back from Venice a day early in case of a train strike. We don't want to not make it back to Rome for our flight and that will give us an extra day to figure things out. I don't know if we are just being paranoid? We are hoping our hotel will keep our luggage after checkout until we go to the airport for 3:00am.
