We are traveling to Rome in April, taking the Italo train from Rome to Naples, with a transfer to Itabus to Sorrento. Does anyone know how Itabus handles luggage security for bags in the hold? My concern is someone simply reaching in the hold walking off with my bag at a stop before mine. We're each carrying a backpack and a piece of carryon luggage. It's my understanding that we can only take our backpacks on board, but our carryons will have to go in the hold. TIA for any tips!
Why would anyone want your clothes?
Keep your valuables with you on board
Theft from under buses is not a thing.
You can watch the hold at each stop if you are so concerned
If you are uncomfortable about it, and I am sometimes, too, just get a window seat on the side of the bus where your luggage is, so you can watch the loading and unloading of bags. I had to take a bus to get to my starting place on the Camino in Spain and had to give up my backpack to 'under the bus'. I am glad I had a small bag in my backpack I could grab with everything important in it. Just put your valuable items in the backpack you will be taking to your seat, and maybe put an AirTag in your luggage.
