I’m visiting the Vatican museum the day I am leaving Rome and traveling to Florence via rail. I need a place to store my luggage as I am renting an apartment. Suggestions near the Vatican Museum or train station?

The train station (Roma Termini) has excellent storage available. Look for the signs for "Left Luggage". It's to the right as you face the trains and down the elevator. Signs are pretty clear.

There was a discussion last July about a service in Rome named Bagbnb, which the original poster used successfully. As I recall, Bagbnb had several locations available throughout Rome (mostly hotels willing to store luggage for a fee), so there may be a location more convenient to your Vatican visit than the baggage storage facility at Termini.
