Lucrino

In the summer months, the beach in Lucrino is pleasant, although nothing to write home about. There is a small mountain/volcano, Monte Nuovo, which can be climbed in about an hour along with Lago Averno, where the volcanic gases used to kill birds flying over it. There is a small bar in Lucrino with a lovely staff. The train travels into Naples and deposits you at the Montesanto train station, near the Centro Storico. If you take some time to research it, you can figure out how to travel by train and bus to Cumae ( which is the ancient site where the Greeks first settled into the Italian Peninsula.

Lucrino isn't a dizzying place of sights and flavors, but it was a pleasant morning and would be a quieter place to visit.
