Lucca vs Sienna

My fiance and I have an 8 night trip in Italy end of June/July and are trying to decide between two itineraries.

The first option is: 3 nights in Venice, 3 nights in Cinque Terre, and 2 nights in Sienna, Fly out of Pisa.
The second option is: 3 nights in Venice, 4 CT and 1 in Lucca before flying out of Pisa. Our flight is a 1 PM out of Pisa so we figure we can catch a morning train there before departure.
We are pretty set on these destinations and timeline, but we are looking for any advice or guidance for either itinerary/ destination.

My vote is for Sienna. It a great city and has one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Europe. There is so much to do in Sienna.

I also would recommend Siena as it's a larger city and will provide more things to see and do, especially in the evenings.

When I first saw your post, I thought we might be discussing a hard fought soccer game, Lucca vs. Siena, and maybe how to get tickets! I've been to, stayed in, and enjoyed both towns, but certainly agree that choosing between the two, Siena has a lot more to offer. Visit the Campo and the Duomo complex during the day, but really enjoy the magic of Siena once the sun goes down, the day trippers have disappeared, and lights illuminate the public buildings.

Another one for Siena. My favorite city in Italy. I keep trying to let my boss let me work remote full time from Siena, but he hasn't gone for that idea yet.

never been to Siena but just visited Lucca and had a great guided tour by Wanda Martinelli (recommend if you do Lucca) and to help your planning Lucca is about 25 minutes from the Pisa train station, it appears Siena is 1:45 minutes or so.

I love both cities. My only deciding factor would be that it is quick and easy to get to Pisa airport from Lucca. I have done it twice. Leaving from Siena would give you a longer travel day, almost 2 hours to get to airport, after checking out and getting to train, etc.

So I think we are going with Sienna for 2 nights. The next question is should we go with:
Venice 3 nights -> Sienna 2 nights -> CT 3 nights or
Venice 3 -> CT 3 -> Sienna 2?
Logistically which would make things smoother for our trip? Is there an advantage to either itinerary? Is it easier to get from CT to Pisa or Sienna to Pisa for our 1 PM flight? Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated.
