Lucca Train Station Baggage Storage

Hello all.

Headed to Italy in roughly 60 days. My bf and I wanted to go to this restaurant in Lucca that is open for lunch as we head towards Florence. Does anyone know if Lucca offers short term bag storage? Our hotel checkin in Florence is until 9 pm, so we have some time to kill.

There is bag storage on platform 1 and just outside the station at the Tourist Center/bike rental office. I closes at 5 or 6 so you would have to reclaim your bags by then. Note that this is not the Tourist Information center operated by the comune but a for profit business.

Are you sure they're open for lunch on the day you plan to be there ? Looks like they don't open until 7:30. (I just Googled since the name intrigued me.)

@laura B .. Yes. They are open for Lunch on Sundays from 1230 to 1430. But, we decided that we would just do an afternoon trip to Pisa and Lucca on a Monday to eat there and kill the two proverbial birds with one stone.

I'm confused. I looked at the website too and it is pretty obvious that they only do dinner 6 days a week, and on one day, Sunday, they also do lunch.

Are you sure you can get lunch on Monday?

No. We decided to do Monday evening because we replanned the trip to include winery tours in Orvieto instead of multiple day trips from Florence. We want at least one full day in each place. Our original plan was to leave Venice early on Sunday and get to Lucca by 1130 am. Once in Lucca, we were going to store bags enjoy the sites, eat lunch at Port Ellen Clan (with a hopeful lunch reservation), and head down to Florence afterwards. The new plan is to go to Pisa and Lucca on a Monday afternoon/evening . The original post seems to be overcome by events.
