Reasonable to have a day trip to Montalcino area from Lucca by car?

Did you think there are no other nice towns to visit a bit closer to Lucca or are you just a Brunello junkie?
if the answer to the first question is yes, I can tell you that there are a lot of places to visit that are closer.
But if the second question is your problem, then you have no choice but go, no matter how far it is.

Looking for nice winery area near Lucca. I looked up distance (after the fact) and see too far to Montalcino.
Yes, we love great wine.
