We will be staying in Cinqueterre for about a week and would like to do a day trip to Lucca and perhaps Portofino.
Firstly, is Lucca worth a day trip and secondly, how does one get to Portofino from CT? Train/bus? Does anyone know a site I can look at for schedules and costs?

Dear Suzanne,
It would be hard for me to leave the CT area to go to Lucca for a day trip, unless it was on the way to my next stop (Florence?)
