Lucca Italy

There will be 4 in my party traveling from Rome to Florence to Lucca to Cinque Terre. We would rather not rent a car. Is it possible to take the train to all destinations? Could we take day trips from Lucca to Cinque Terre? After Lucca we will head to Faenza for a week long bike riding trip. Wondering if we can get to Faenza from Lucca by train. Any help would be appreciated. We will be traveling from June 19th to the 25th. The 25th until July 3rd we will be biking.

Yes, you can do everything by train.

Train schedules are here:
www.trenitalia.com

Use Italian spelling for station names:
Florence=Firenze Santa Maria Novella
Rome=Roma Termini or Roma Tiburtina
Rome Fiumicino (FCO) airport=Fiumicino Aeroporto
Cinque Terre > Cinque Terre is an area comprising 5 different villages, you must use one of the village names to select a station (Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore). Monterosso is the largest and more trains stop there.

You will be using regional trains (commuter trains) for many portions of your trip, therefore when checking schedules use a date in the next seven days, because regional train schedules are downloaded on the website weekly. They won't change when you go.
