Lucca/ Florence/ CT/ Viareggio Carnival next week

Hi all! We are flying from Spain into Pisa this Sunday-Thursday and spending our nights in Lucca. Traveling with us is a couple friends who have never been to Europe before. We like sightseeing and chilling (not so much museums) That being said with 3 full days we are somewhat flexible where we go.

Sunday evening- Pisa (since we are arriving in the evening)
Monday- Florence or Lucca or CT?
Tuesday- carnival in Viareggio (the only non flexible day)
Wednesday- Florence or Lucca or CT?

We have been to Florence before and other parts of Tuscany but have never been to Cinque Terre or Lucca. That being said the weather is supposed to be decent on Monday and it looks like it hasn’t rained in a while. Does anyone know if CT will be open? Trails? Shops? Restaurants? and even worth going on a Monday or will our time be better spent in Lucca or Florence, etc? Would love any advice and if any of the experts want to rearrange the days or suggest something else please do!!

It's winter in the Northern Hemisphere - Cinque Terre is similar in latitude to Minneapolis and Portland, Maine. The villages will be empty, many businesses closed, there's no ferry, and vegetation is dormant. The hiking would be enjoyable in good weather but that's the only reason to go.

What caught my eye is Viareggio. Pls report back on the carnival and other aspects of Viareggio. Last time I was there, I was a teenager and, to me, it resembled Wildwood, NJ. I enjoyed it, but would like to see it through adult eyes. Guess it goes on a list...

I enjoy Lucca. Why not play it by ear for the last day?
