Lucca day trip to Parma for foodie tour

We will be staying in Lucca for a few days and want to do a day trip to Parma for a foodie tour. We will not have a car. I cannot find any trains or buses that go directly. They all seem to go via Bologna, unless I’m missing something. Since our tour begins around 9 a.m. in Parma and the train trip takes about 3 1/2 hours and the bus is longer, those won’t work. Does anyone have ideas for direct transportation from Lucca to Parma? Alternately, since it is quicker to get from Lucca to Bologna than Lucca to Parma, has anyone had a great experience for a foodie tour in Bologna (that I could do as a day trip) that includes the following: Parmesan cheese, balsamic vinegar, and Parma ham (or something similar)? Thank you.

You could possibly go to Parma the day before, spend the night, take your tour in the morning, (I have taken one, it is usually finished by 4 PM), then train back to Lucca. It will be a long day, though.

There is a foodie trip from Bologna - they will pick you up at your hotel if you come from Lucca and spend one night. The tour leaves at 7:30 AM - look up Italian Days Food Experience

Hard and almost inhabited mountains between Lucca and Parma. It is impossible to be leave from Lucca and be in Parma at 9 am, unless you drive and you are ready to leave at 6 am.
