Lucca

Multi-generational family (4 - an active 70) in Lucca for a month this summer, any recommendations for restaurants, activities, day trips, etc.?

Lucca is a wonderful place.
Rent bikes and ride along the walls...very cheap to rent them.
Walk around the walls and stop when you see something you like down below.
Attend a couple of Puccini concerts, there are a few to choose from.

Rent a car and drive to Bagna di Lucca, The Devil's Bridge, also Luccio : a hanging village further away, Pisa, Viareggio for beaches.
You will not be bored.
