We will be in Lucca on our aniversary on the villages of Italy tour. We were thinking of going to Risotrante Butterfly. It is outside the walls, is this difficult to get to? I believe we will be staying inside the walls.

It is about a 15 minute drive up the Serhio River. I would think a cab/taxi is the best way to get there if you don't have a car. Be sure you arrange return transport as well.

If you would be interested and have the time, I highly recommend the experience at Extra Virgin Cooking Class. You can find it on Trip Advisor. Yes, I know it's not a restaurant, but Chef Giuseppe's home, inside the walls is an elegant palazzo. His kitchen is high end and the dining room and table setting where you will eat is beautiful. You start the day at 9-9:30 by shopping the local markets and then head to his home to prepare and then eat an amazing gourmet meal. We drank Prosecco while we cooked, then had Chianti with our lunch. We finished with expresso and Limoncello. Chef Giuseppe is an amazing host. We stayed in Lucca (inside the walls) for 3 weeks last May and this was our most memorable experience. If this is not something you would be interested in, then it looks as if the restaurant you've chosen is a short taxi drive away.
