I love love love Italy (born there) and have to go, but funds will be less than I expected to work with. Advice on air fare and lodging appreciated for SFO (San Francisco) to either Turin, Milan, Veneto or Pisa. Dates 4/5 - 4/24 (are weekdays better than weekend for fares?)

So Far $ 908 swiss air, $1148 Air Iberia to Rome;
Swiss air $ 925 Milan, British Air $ 1079, American $ 1179, Air France too much; Swiss Air $ 905 to Florence. Do you want to fly in one city and out the other and are your days fixed ??

For accommodation, have a look at staying ina monastery or convent guest house. They are uniquely Italian,safe, well located and if you are single have genuine single rooms. I'm staying in some on my trip to Sicily as a friend recommended them to me. Look at www.monasterystays.com which is an on-line booking service.
