Hello friends,
My husband and I are thinking about signing up this November 24 to the "Best of Sicily in 11 Days Tour." I would love to hear your comments on this trip. We will be in Sicily already attending italian class for 47 days in Cefalu ending on November 23 and will join this tour after.
Did you like the hotels? what was your favorite day, least favorite day? Is 11 days too little? did you felt rush? what was your favorite restaurant(s)? Your favorite outing on your own?
Thank you in advance!
Please check the RS tour scrapbook entries for details on people's experiences.

Also see the reviews of the tour posted at https://www.ricksteves.com/tours/italy/sicily Every family taking the tour gets a post-tour survey although not everyone responds
You should be aware that RS, like all travel companies, uses what I like to call "tour math". It's really a 9-day trip if you count full days. An intro meeting around 6pm and a group dinner at the start of the tour plus breakfast when the tour ends count as two more "days".
Thank you so much! Your suggestions were very helpful
Took this trip a few years ago and had a fabulous time. It didn't feel rushed at all. The tour was very complete. MANY favorite days: seeing the home of a Countess, vineyard tour, cooking class, making nipple cookies, 99% of the tour (and the guide Nina B) was awesome. The only one day we had I didn't care too much for was going to a modern church. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this tour. The food was amazing. I could weep just thinking about the gelato. LOL.
Great to hear that you loved the trip!
Do you really need tour after spending 47 days in Cefalu studying Italian? Your language and cultural skills should be pretty good by then. Planning for 10 additional days while you are in Sicily would be easy with help and suggestions from teachers, fellow students and locals. You can do this at a fraction of the cost.
Hi Brad, our thought is to study, paint and “live” with locals in Cefalu without having to worry about seeing the rest of the island every weekend. Slow living and then ending with a tour of the island at a faster pace
While in Cefalu most likely we will see some of the sites from Rick Steve’s tour, but I would not mind seeing them again.
Thank you for your thoughts
