Love my merlino wool for cooler travel days and nights

I always take mt merino wool crew neck and zip cardigan for fall travel to Italy. It is quite warm without being itchy. It also does not wrinkle. Wool X is a brand I really love.

Surely these items are worth taking as layers in both fall and winter to many areas besides Italy. The Packing section of the forum has been recommending merino products for several years. I also wear merino items at home in winter.

Last year I bought a yak cardigan from Quince. Love it! It kept me warm with and without my rain coat in Ireland and South of England tour this summer.

Quince didn’t bring back yak cardigans this year but again have crew and turtle sweaters. About half the price as cashmere.

I don’t wear wool because my hubby is allergic to it. There’s not much need for sweaters in Phoenix.

Will have to explore Yak too. I realize all my travel layers are black. I’d love to add another versatile color.

I love my merino wool crew necks for travel and home wear. Thanks for the Wool X recommendation. I've bought mine at Outdoor Research and Point 6, but they only have black. I'd love other colors.

Laughing a bit …here in the Land of La its a brisk
58 degrees Fahrenheit and cloudy. Went out to breakfast at 6:30am. Wore Smart Wool socks with my low cut hiking boots, cargo shorts and my Patagonia long sleeve pullover. Back home sipping decaf and seriously considering turning on the heat.

The Hollywood Christmas Parade is tonight. Participants going to be shivering.

Also reminds me of the joke about San Francisco temps in June.

Nor Cal born and bre. Grew up an hour south of The City By The Bay. You NEVER ever went there without a sweatshirt, or heavy sweater, or coat.

I wear Darn Tough merino wool socks daily (love them). Besides that, the only wool I have is an old EB lambswool cardigan that I wear over a long sleeved tee and a red Jason Kole coat from Goodwill which I wear during the holidays.

I have never been able to tolerate wool touching my skin, but I wanted to try a merino wool top. I purchased a Wool X long sleeved v-neck on clearance (in a less than awesome color). While it's way better than regular wool, it's unfortunately still not comfortable to wear.

I love the look of that zip cardigan and all the features of wool. It would be so great for travel.

Native New Englander here who lived in NorCal for 23 years. Merino wool, fleeced lined pants (and heated jackets!) are my friends right now here in balmy Massachusetts was 1 F yesterday morning and now we have a lovely ice storm to cover all the new snow! 🤦‍♀️😭

We’ll be in Genoa-Turin/Alba/Briancon in early April- then to Lyon-London-Paris so trying to figure out how to layer for the mountains passes, the Med and rainy North. Any suggestions? (And I will visit the packing section!) Thank you!
